ode to 100 posts today:

This is my hundredth post in cyber world. And I have contemplated what to write about. I felt the need for it to be a special post because yes its #100; should be a big deal right...answer is yes! The past week & a little, there have been too many times when I have wanted and needed to blog about events and life; but none seemed worthy of this mark in my series of blog posts. So here I am sitting at JW in the middle of the day in the middle of the week making history on my blog.

-moments-

I have these moments in life when I am in love. With songs, relationships, food, books, stories, conversations, events, activities, locations, emotions, one liners, texts, emails, letters and PEOPLE. Moments that truly make my heart beat faster, eyes get watery, whole body overwhelmed with goodness and happiness. I want to tell everyone in those moments all that I am thinking and how life can be so wonderful.

So my 100th post goes to all the moments in life when I can't breathe because its so amazing. I love my life and all the blessings that God has given me! My moments are reminders of how dreams and ideas can be a reality. That they are my reality. I love love love these moments in my life.

To moments that were, moments that could be, and moments that are my now!

Jill Daniels:

A great friend(rm jd) said this:
We are all enduring .
We need to have faith and trust to endure.

Our problems are all different and are easier for some and harder for others.

advise corner:
Have faith (something i have been told many times cpm)
Trust that He can help

Just pickin up sticks:

"He who picks up one end of a stick picks up the other.
He who chooses the beginning of a road chooses the place it leads to. It is the means that determine the end."
Harry Emerson Fosdick

We are all picking up sticks deciding different roads and endings to what we have chosen. We choose where we will end up. Each choice we make changes where we will end up and who we will be there with.

I really great friend shared these quotes with me.

the prophet Nephi describes the Final Judgement in terms of what we have become:...
" From such teachings we conclude that the Final Judgement is not just an evaluation of a sum total of good and evil acts- what we have done. It is an acknowledgment of the final effect of our acts and thoughts-what we havebecome. It is not enough for anyone just to go through the motions. The commandments, ordinances, and covenants of the gospel are not a list of deposits required to be made in some heavenly account. The gospel of Jesus Christ is a plan that shows us how to become what our Heavenly Father desires us to become"

"Just when all seems to be going right, challenges often come in multiple doses applied simultaneously. When those trials are not consequences of your disobedience, they are evidence that the Lord feels you are prepared to grow more. He therefore gives you experiences that stimulate growth, understanding and compassion which polish you for your everlasting benefit. To get you from where you are to where He wants you to be requires a lot of searching, and that generally entails discomfort and pain"
Richard G. Scott

Quote #1:
Its true I don't believe that life is just a check off list,
i went to the temple check,
i served someone in need today check,
i attend FHE every week check. =I am going to Heaven.
Although i think it can start out that way... i believe along the way peoples hearts change and become more like Christ. By doing the everyday "tasks" or good deeds they will help us become who we are supposed to be, who God knows we can be, it changes who we are and how we view our lives. Going through the motions is good but won't do us any good if we don't change and start doing things for the reasons God asks us to do those things.

Quote #2:
This is what I was assigned to speak about a couple(okay 2 months) Sundays ago. How adversity in our lives is our chance to grow and become the person God knows we can be. Its not ever how we think it is going to be or the trials we think we need to have, but yes I agree with Elder Scott when he says, "To get you from where you are to where He wants you to be requires a lot of searching, and that generally entails discomfort and pain"

I love you: the ups- the downs -the all!

I don't know how i missed it, but this past week(april 6, 2010) was the week that Curt first said I love you since he had been back from his mission.

Man do i love him! We've been through a bunch and as most of you have told me we can never make up our minds but it works for us! Its different than most of my friends love or the love i have had examples of but I would never change it and have no regrets.

I love you CPM through it all!

Hugs all around!
In the SLC airport my girl Jill is BACK!!!

Pretty Happy:

This is the first picture I took with my new dark hair, I hadn't dyed it for over 3years and finally went into see McKall so she could do something with my lions mane! I didn't get a trim like McKall wanted to do (yes it has been 3yrs since i have done that too)-hair ladies don't be lookin at my split ends!

He makes me pretty happy....

Missing a Missionary :

Missions are hard for any of the loved ones that are sending off a missionary. Moms, dads, brothers, sisters or the "special friend"...
We need to stick together and remember how great missions are and all the good they bring to both the missionary and the people back at home. It's a time of growth. So many blessings come from serving a mission! Though it is hard saying goodbye, we need to remember the greatness that comes from a mission, and to rely on the Lord in all things.

P.S.
Manda you are loved and have so much support from your family, soon to be family(desi butt) your friends, from me and from our Heavenly Father. Remember this is both good for you and for Parker!

Good Luck Elder Williams

Thought two for Tuesday:

Too good not to share:
I am a disciple of Jesus Christ. I won't look back, let up, slow down, or be still. I no longer need pre-eminence, positions, promotions, or popularity. I don't have to be right, first, recognized, praised, regarded, or rewarded. I now live by faith, lean on His presence, walk with patience, am uplifted by prayer, and labor with power. My face is set, my gate is fast, my goal is heaven. My road is narrow, my way is rough. My companions are few, my guide is reliable, my mission is clear. I cannot be bought, compromised, detoured, lured away, divided, or delayed. I will not flinch in the face of sacrifice, hesitate in the presence of the adversary, negotiate at the table of the enemy, ponder at the pool of popularity, or meander in the maze of mediocrity. I won't give up, shut up, or let up until I have stayed up, stored up, and paid for the cause of Christ. I must go till He comes, give till I drop, preach till all know, and work till He stops me, and when He returns for His own, He will have no problem recognizing me, my banner will be clear."
-Henry B. Eyring

April 20, 2011 Elder in the Making:

I love doing ode's to the people i love. Todays ode is for my little string bean Spencer Allan Dahl! He was called to serve in the Independence, Missouri Mission and leaves April 20 of THIS YEAR! I can't believe that he is going on a mission and that he is leaving so soon! He has been my pal my whole life and i am so glad my parents decided to bring him to our family so i could have a friend to play with the rest of my life! I love you Spencer and couldn't be more proud that you and worthy and ready to change peoples lives in Missouri!

Spiritual thought for Tuesday:

"I don't worry too much about the future, and I don't worry too much about the past.
The past is gone, and you can't change, can't correct it.
The future, you can anticipate it, but you can't necessarily do very much about it.
It is the present you have to deal with.
Reach out for every good opportunity to do what you ought to do."

-President Gordon B. Hinkley

Missing Mr. Messam...

How do you get through losing the one you love?

Thursday, January 27, 2011

Lately i have been reading because yes i don't go to school anymore so instead of reading textbooks like the past 4years i have moved
on to literature. Right now I am reading "Between a rock and a hard place". Its the book about the man( aron) who was hiking in moab and a boulder fell on his arm and in order to survive he cut his arm off. A film was produced about Aron's experience, its called 127(here for trailer) i have been looking forward to seeing this for about a month maybe more. But yes the reader inside me told me to read the book first. So here i am reading it. The following quote is from this amazing book. Aron is actually quoting a passage from another book, "Into the wild".

"So many people live within unhappy circumstances and yet will not take the initiative to change their situation because they are conditioned to a life of security, conformity, and conservatism, all of which may appear to give one peace of mind, but in reality nothing is more damaging to the adventurous spirit within a man than a secure future. The very basic core of a man's living spirit is his passion for adventure. the joy of life comes from our encounters with new experiences, and hence there is no greater joy than to have and endlessly changing horizon, for each day to have a new and difference sun."
I have always had a love and passion for adventure especially for the outdoors...so to say the least this is a huge motivator for me!!! Be happy and live life!

Oh baby boy...

a comment from my great friend Calab! Some asked him some questions which got him to thinking about the following:

1: When people point to their wrist when they ask you what time it is. I know where my freaking watch is pal, where is yours. When I go to Wal-mart, I don't point at my crotch when I'm asking for the bathroom.
‎2: People who are willing to get off the arse to search an entire room for the remote control when they could have just as easily pushed the buttons on the TV in half of the time.
3: When people say, "It's the last place you look." NO SHIT SHERLOCK!!! Why the freak would you keep looking after you found it. Do people actually do this?! Who are they?
‎4: When you go to the movies and your friend leans over and says, "OMG did you just see that?!" No idiot... I just paid 8.50 to sit in a dark room with uncomfortable seats and stare into the back of my eyelids.
‎5: When people ask, "Can I ask you a question?" Didn't give me much of a choice on that one did you sunshine?
‎6: Ads that say something is "New AND Improved." Well?? Which is it. If it's new, then there hasn't been anything before it that could have been improved. And if it is improved that implies that it isn't new, but just upgraded.
‎7: When people say life is short... ARE YOU FISTING ME?! LIFE IS THE LONGEST THING WE DO!! What do people do that is any longer? I REALLY WANT TO KNOW.
‎8: When you are waiting for the bus and people would ask you, "Has the bus already come yet?" Lights on but nobody's home. Would I be here if it had come?
‎9: When people say, "My eyes aren't what they used to be.." What did they used to be? Ears?
‎10: When you are eating something and somebody asks if it is good. No good sir. It is absolutely revolting. I love eating things I hate.
11: When people announce that they are going to the toilet. Thank you for that image I really didn't need.
‎12: McDonalds staff that pretend like they don't know what you are talking about unless you preface every word with Mc... How about I grab a Mcstraw and Mcstab it into your Mcfreaking Mceye. Comprende?
13: When I order fast food or gas and they ask me if I need a receipt. There is a money back guarantee that I won't be returning your merchandise.

14: When I go skateboarding/snowboarding and I eat crap. Inevitably one of my friends will run up and while doing nothing but standing over me ask me if I'm alright. After I fell on the concrete I decided that it kinda reminded me of my down feather pillow and I thought I might take a little nap right here right now... NO I'M NOT ALRIGHT!!!
‎15: When people ask me if they can borrow a tissue.... no but you can have one. I don't want it back after you have rubbed your snot all over it. Not one of my fetishes...

wow i love him, made my friday much better! Great start the the weekend!
